Myovision: Dyna ROM Certification

Modern Techniques for Soft Tissue Injury Evaluation
The simultaneous measurement of muscle guarding and range of motion is emerging as one of the most powerful tools for evaluating for soft tissue injury.  This is due to the importance of evaluating for muscle guarding when performing range of motion. When MRI is normal, and/or ROM is normal, without looking at muscle guarding it is difficult to come to accurate conclusions with regards to the patients actual condition.  This course will teach you how to perform the test and apply the latest techniques in interpretation. This course will cover major legal cases including Baker vs. Bailey (2018), Merritt vs. DOH (2004).
Lecture and Demonstration
Hour 1:            Background and technical aspects of Static vs. Dynamic SEMG.  Integrating Dynamic sEMG into your range of motion measures.
Hour 2:            History of various measurement techniques used to evaluate for soft tissue
injury, and their effectiveness.
Hour 3:            A review of research studies on soft tissue injury evaluation including AMA recognized procedures.
Hour 4:            A review of trials, depositions and preparing for presentation to attorneys, juries and courts.
Hour 5:            Lunch
Hour 6:            Basic interpretation of objective measures and applying them appropriately per patient requirements.
Hour 7:            Advanced interpretation:  Teasing out the symptom magnifier from truly injured patients.  How to properly approach patient and redirect to appropriate healthcare provider.
Hour 8:            Hands on workshop:  Working with tools for evaluating soft tissue injury.
