New for the 10th anniversary of Summer in December! UWS has added two hours of staff training presented by Lori Holt at NCMIC.
 
Topics include:
• Risk management and documentation
• Ethical use of social media
• Professional boundaries and patient communication
• Diversity/cultural competency 
 
Presentations will be one hour on Friday and Saturday. 7:30 am - 8:30 am.
 
Cost is $99.
 
** A minimum of 20 registrants in needed to hold the office staff training during Summer in December. UWS will inform registrants and refund the $99 fee by November 1 if the office staff training is cancelled.

Professional Boundaries, Ethical Use of Social Media, Documentation and Doctor/Patient Communication in the Chiropractic Office
 
  • This course will address several areas in which the staff face daily in the office setting. It will enlighten the attendee about ethical and unethical practices in relationship building with their patients and other staff members.  The attendee will understand ethical considerations as they relate to proper relationship building and patient confidentiality.
  • The attendee will be able to demonstrate better communication skills to use when communicating with patients and other staff members. The attendee will learn skills that will help them communicate clearly and with impact, by improving both their verbal and non-verbal communication style.
  • This course will address the ethical use of social media in the clinical setting and on the intranet. It will enlighten the attendees about the ethical and unethical practices of social media in regards to patients and other staff members. The attendee will be able to demonstrate the importance of patient confidentiality when using social media.
  • Documentation is a means that allows safe and effective care to patients. Attendees will learn the importance of accurate and timely documentation. Discussion will include ways to avoid “red flags” when documenting.
